The Ecological Adaptations Lab

Why do some insects dazzle with bright colours while others vanish into the background? How do they thrive in fragmented habitats, or shift reproduction strategies when isolated?
Our lab studies how animals send, receive, and manipulate visual signals in complex environments, and how environmental change reshapes these interactions.
We investigate the behavioural, ecological, and evolutionary adaptations that shape arthropod survival in a changing world. Our research focuses on how insects interact with predators, competitors, and their environments through behaviour, colour patterns, and ecological strategies.
